Available Therapeutic Modalities

Kristi is trained in a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and works collaboratively with you to tailor therapy in a way that best fits your needs, preferences, and goals.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT supports you to relate differently to difficult thoughts and feelings, while reconnecting with what matters most to you. Rather than trying to eliminate discomfort, ACT helps build flexibility, self-compassion, and values-guided action.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps you understand patterns between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and how these may be influencing your wellbeing. Therapy focuses on building insight and practical strategies to support greater choice and confidence in everyday life.

Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
CFT supports developing a kinder, more supportive relationship with yourself, especially when shame or self-criticism is present. It helps strengthen feelings of safety, warmth, and self-soothing.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT supports emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and relationship skills. Therapy focuses on balancing acceptance and change, helping you navigate intense emotions with greater steadiness and self-trust.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT helps you better understand, access, and process emotions in a safe and supportive way. It supports healing by making space for emotions that may have been overwhelming, suppressed, or difficult to express.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR supports the processing of distressing or traumatic experiences so they feel less overwhelming in the present. It helps memories become more integrated without needing to go into detailed retelling.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
MBSR supports developing awareness of the present moment with curiosity and compassion. It can help reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and support a more grounded relationship with thoughts and sensations.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)
MI is a collaborative approach that supports clarity, confidence, and self-direction around change. It helps explore ambivalence and strengthen motivation in a way that respects your autonomy and values.

Schema Therapy
Schema-informed therapy explores long-standing patterns and beliefs that often develop in response to early experiences. Therapy focuses on understanding these patterns with compassion and building healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.
